Inshore:

Shrimping reports have been considerably better than orginally projected for the past week, and though the size has been running smaller, great numbers of shrimp have been found in the harbor along the james island shoreline, as well as near the Ashley river. South Edisto has also produced some very good shrimp numbers, again with the size running a little on the small size. The fall trout bite has just started to kick into gear, with good reports on DOA shrimp and Zman DieZel minnowZ. Bull reds are still available around the jetties and our inlets, and a strong black drum bite has taken off lately fishing structure in 6-15ft of water on live shrimp. Flounder continue to produce around the inside of inlets and along rock piles using live minnows and Gulp jerkshads.

Offshore:

The turn of season from summer to fall has sparked a decent number of blackfin tunas to start showing up along the ledge (140-200ft) as well as sailfish bite beginning to unfold in 300-450ft of water. Bottom fishing reports continue to consist of some solid grouper in 80-125ft in addition to plenty of vermillions and triggers holding over live bottom in the same depths.
