Zelda was found in the Awendaw area after hunting season came to a close. She was starving and heartworm postive. Zelda was probably used as a breader, and from looking at her teeth, she was well taken care of at one time. At seven, she's too old to be of service, so she has found her way to the Charleston Animal Society where she is being nursed back to health. She will need a foster to adopt home for now, until she completes her heartworm treatments. Someplace calm. All medical expenses during this treatment are paid for by the C.A.S.
Kaya is a beautiful, energetic boxer/terrier that recently returned to Charleston Animal Society because she was a little too energetic for the family that originally took her home. Kaya would be great for an active single person, an active couple, or even a family with a few slightly older kids (she is a big hugger, as you can see in the video!) If you'd like to give Kaya her "fur-ever home", go to www.charlestonanimalsociety.org or call (843) 747-4849!
